In Loving Memory ~
She grew up near the beach in Hamilton, Ont, and at different times had lived in Stonewall, Man., Regina, Sask., Ajax, Ont., Orleans, Ont., Brighton, Ont. and last stop in Abbotsford, BC
Trained to become a Nurse and married a Mountie - Keith Sherwood Taylor (who with she is now reunited).
Adopted 2 beautiful and smart kids, Tara and Jay. (I might be biased on this)... , and stayed home to raise us, all while becoming a super Mom.
Grew vegetables, baked bread, made jams, jellies, pickles, salsa, and the like.
Master seamstress (side hustle) - completed hems for a store in Ajax, along with making dolls, doll clothes, a selection of shirts, shorts, and even sewed the wings of a fiberglass airplane.
Keeping it fun at Halloween dressing up as a witch (trademarked cackle and all) along with a haunted house in our garage.
Many camping trips over the years, always up for an adventure. One time dropping us (Dad, & kids, canoe) in a river that was following the HWY, with plans to meet us downstream... but the river veered off, water got rough and dumped into a lake - hours later Mom and some locals found us in the dark of night, in the middle of the lake. (Mom superpowers at work - no cell phone in these times)
Following their dreams, they bought land and built a house, moved in, got chickens, pheasants, a dog, and a cat to add to the family, they had some amazing neighbors and really enjoyed this experience.
Downsized from the acreage and moved west, volunteering at the Red Cross, made friends at Bones & Balance, Chances (social club)... and always enjoyed wine time with her new Abby family.
She had a way to make you feel comfortable and appreciated, and would always put in extra effort into thanking you, be it the postperson, cell phone store tech, the garbage people, or lawn service - a few nice words, a box of chocolate, a bottle of wine, or water when you needed it on a hot day.
Having had diabetes since a very young age, she never thought she would live past 40, and still surprised us at 75 years young by skydiving out of a plane.
The last few months were a little bumpy - but to the last day, you were cracking jokes and making us laugh. On occasion you would say - "You'll miss me when I'm gone" ... and Yes, you are correct - we do, you're missed beyond measure, until we meet again, save us a seat.
Love you Mom. xo
