MARIA CALDWELL

Mrs. Maria Amalia (Mary) Caldwell (nee Walker) passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 4th, 2003 in the Kelowna General Hospital at the age of 79 years.


Mary was born in Duais, France on September 25th, 1923 and immigrated to Canada with her parents in 1925. She attended school in Osoyoos and North Vancouver, B.C. During her lifetime Mary worked as a plumber, at an aircraft plant, as a hairdresser and as a restaurant cook. She was also a member of the Royal Purple, the Toastmasters and St. John's Lutheran Church.


She was predeceased by her brother Etienne, her parents, Stephan and Maria Walker and her husband (John) Delbert Caldwell. She will be sadly missed by her three sons and daughters-in-law; Kenneth & Denean of Lumby, B.C., James & Eileen and Tom & JoAnne of Vernon, B.C., one daughter and son-in-law; Delores & Ole Jensen of Winfield, Alberta, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren


Cremation preceded the Funeral Service which will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church on Saturday, January 18th, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Roy White officiating. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Mary Caldwell to the Canadian Diabetic Association, P.O. Box 1301, Vernon, B.C. V1T 6N6.
