Margaret passed away quietly in her sleep at 6:15 am on December 29, 2007 at the age of 59 years at MSA Hospital in Abbotsford. She had been sick for sometime with numerous ailments. “Margo” was predeceased by her parents Isadore Quintal and Josephine Swain; her foster-parents Clifford and Dorothy Steinhauer; her daughters Chantelle Rene and Dawn Lori; her sisters Elia Suvee and Annie Desjarlais; and the love of her life Maynard Lindgren. Left to carry on her love of life and laughter are her sons Sheldon Quinn and Kurt Leighton, her daughter Kimberley Quinn, brothers Don, Henry, Art and Leonard Swain and Lawrence, Pete and Frank Quinn; sisters Bertha Quinn, Clara Coutts, Lena Parenteau and Sheila Jean. She will also be missed by her grandchildren and great grandchild, who were the sparkles of her eyes, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Margaret was born in Olds, Alberta but after surviving “Residential School” in northern Alberta she lived in the St. Paul, Alberta area. After living in Edmonton she married Vernon Wong who would later become one of her closest friends, even after they were to go their own ways in life. She settled in Abbotsford in 1981. Margo was quick to become friends with everyone she met. When she wasn’t visiting family and friends in Alberta she loved heading south to Nooksack with friend Nadine whom she was as close to as a sister.
The immediate family would like to extend its heartfelt appreciation to the Telemetry and ICU unit of MSA Hospital and ICU unit of Royal Columbian Hospital in New West for their outstanding support.
