Lydia Reimer passed away on November 29, 2014 at the age of 92 years. She was born on July 30, 1922 in Muntau, Ukraine. Her family immigrated to Canada aboard the "Empress of France" in 1924, and settled in the Swift Current area of Saskatchewan where they endured the hardships of the depression. Despite those hardships, mother got her teacher's certificate. In 1943 the family moved to Abbotsford, BC where she taught school at Dewdney, Bradner, and Peardonville. Lydia married H.P. Reimer in 1946 and they proceeded to farm for many years mostly at the corner of Clearbrook and Huntington. They had four children born to them. Her life changed considerably when Henry died in 1986. She was devoted to her church. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren. Her interests were broad and included reading, fashion, sports, scrapbooking and serving in her church and community. After a five year stay at Bevan Lodge in Abbotsford, she passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on November 29, 2014. She will be greatly missed by all of her family. The family wishes to thank the staff at Bevan Lodge for their care of their mother and grandmother.

She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Anna Pauls, several brothers and sisters and a stillborn daughter. She is survived by her four children Grace (Dennis)Anderson, Richard (Cris) Reimer, Peter (Pauline) Reimer, Jack (Karen) Reimer, twelve grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 11:00 am at South Poplar Cemetery. Memorial service to follow at 1:00 pm at South Abbotsford MB Church, 32424 Huntingdon Road,Abbotsford.
