Lorraine passed away at home and into the presence of Jesus, late in the evening of July 7, 2021 after a lengthy struggle with Parkinson's and dementia.
Born in Vancouver, BC, August 16, 1942 to Max & Mary Knoblick, she was an only child. She married Len Verwoerd on June 2, 1961, who was from a large Dutch family and raised four kids together. They moved to various towns across BC but most of their married life they lived in Maple Ridge and Abbotsford.
Lorraine loved being a homemaker and hostess, as well as enjoyed many crafts, painting, gardening and music either singing or playing accordion.
She is survived by her husband Len, who marked their 60th wedding anniversary just this past June, as well as her children Dave (Joyce), Jim, Steve (Renae) of Abbotsford, BC and Eunice (Jason) Crossley of Prince George, BC, as well as eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, July 17, 2021 @ 1:30 PM at Trinity Christian Reformed Church in Abbotsford, BC. Service will be live streamed for those who are unable to attend.
