Leonard Eric Tornquist

In loving memory ~

Leonard Eric Tornquist was born Jan. 19, 1940 at 4633 County Line Rd. Aldergrove, B.C. to Eric and Elin Tornquist. Len passed away May 28, 2023 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital at the age of 83.

After graduation from Langley Jr. Sr. High School Len apprenticed as an auto body man in the Fraser Valley. At 25, Len travelled to Port Alice for a job as an auto body man for Rayonier. During a camp shutdown he made a decision which would transform his life, Len went to Lincoln Nebraska to study welding at the Lincoln Welding Company. Rayonier provided the opportunity for him to hone his welding craft fixing many pieces of broken logging equipment. Len was well known for his mobile welding business, he could fix most anything.

He loved his Harley Davidson Motorcycles, automobiles and dancing with the ladies at the Legion.

Len is survived by his sister, Barbara Winter who lives in Lafayette, CA, cousins, Margaret and family, Annabelle and family, Marita, Solveig, Erik, Lilian and families, and many cousins in Finland and Sweden.

Many special thanks to Jarrett and Donna Day who took him into their home and cared for him during his last year.

A Celebration of Life will be on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Aldergrove at 11:00 a.m.
