It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Cassie Ellens, after a courageous battle with cancer, on February 2, 2007 at the age of 70 years. The Lord has taken her home.
Cassie was predeceased by her loving husband (of 49 years) Ritchie in 2003. Cassie is survived by her children, Ric (Debbie), Darrell (Elaine), Sherry (Mel) Olson, Mark (Tracy), and daughter-in-law Sandie; grandchildren, Dustin, Sonya, Christopher, Daniel, Desiree and Cherise Olson and Brandon; honourary grandchildren Nikita, Kenny, Âlittle Carson, and Jay; Âsisters and brothers, Anne Boychuk, and Katie Lotosky both of Smoky Lake, AB (Cassie’s home town), Nellie (Alex) Boychuk of Stony Plain, AB, Mary Pawliuk, John (Frances) Kuchera of Edmonton, AB, Eddie (Willie) Kuchera of Bells, AB and Victor (Margaret) Kuchera of Surrey, BC, and the late Olga Boyarchuk; many cherished nieces and nephews, especially Mary-Lou Zimka of Smoky Lake, AB, Sylvia Wagner of Stony Plain, AB and the late Patsy (Boyarchuk) Arndt of Fairmont, B.C.; as well as many other family and friends. Cassie will be remembered and sadly missed by all who knew her.
Graveside Service will be held Thursday, Feb. 8 at 12:30 pm at Hazelwood Cemetery, Hazelwood Ave. (East of Hwy #11), Abbotsford, B.C. Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 pm at Immanuel Fellowship Baptist Church, 2950 Blue Jay St. (at MacLure Rd.), Abbotsford, B.C.
We would like to thank Dr. Kobierski, Dr. Kuhn, and Dr. Adamson for their care and compassion in assisting our Mom.

Never say in sadness she is gone, only say in thankfulness she was.
