MacKINNON, Kenneth
Kenneth was born on August 9, 1927 and following a long illness passed away peacefully on February 5, 2008. Survived by his best friend and loving wife of 51 years, Joyce, three children: Martin, Ian (Carol) and Kathy (David); three grandchildren Riley, Stephanie and Taylor and his dear Aunt, Hannah Newman. Kenneth was raised in Vancouver and attended Tecumseh Elementary and John Oliver High School. He played many sports and participated as a piper in many pipe bands. He started his career as a boiler engineer in the commencement of the community of Kitimat. He married his sweetheart in 1956 and began a 35-year
career at Carling O'Keefe Brewery which became Molson's Breweries. He was a 50-year member of the
Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of BC and Yukon holding a membership in Composite Lodge No. 76 and more recently in Abbotsford Lodge No. 70. He was a 40-year life member of the Gizeh Shriners (AAONMS) and during his membership, he enjoyed an active membership in the Gizeh Pipes "N" Drums. Foremost, Ken loved his
family both near and far, his Scottish culture, camping and fishing trips, sports and his association with the
Masonic Order. A man who never had a bad thing to say about anyone, he will be dearly missed by all whom he touched. A Celebration Tea will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2008 from 1 to 3 pm at the Amenities " Hall at Crown Point 1450 McCallum Road, Abbotsford, BC. Donations to the
