Joseph Stoddart Ward passed away peacefully on December 12, 2023, at Menno Hospital in Abbotsford. He was born April 25th, 1934, in Chesley, Ontario, the eldest of six children.
A love of music brought him across the country to join the Royal Canadian Engineers band based in Camp Chilliwack in 1962.
Through Cooke's Presbyterian Church in Chilliwack, he met his future spouse Margaret Kathleen Keith. They married in 1964, moved back to southern Ontario, and started a family.
They moved to Abbotsford in 1970 and after suffering through significant health problems, Joe eventually started working at Conair Aviation. Joe retired from Conair in 1996 but stayed active in Calvin Presbyterian Church in Abbotsford.
He is predeceased by his parents, Gavin and Verna Ward and brothers Walter, Gavin and Bruce.
He is survived by his sons Graham (Tammy) and Brian (Jennifer) of Abbotsford, Darren (Noreen) of Calgary, by his brother Jack (Donna) of Hanover, Ontario and sister Ali (Glenn) of Orr Lake, Ontario.
He is also survived by his nine beloved grandchildren, Elijah, Jeremiah, Samuel, Noah, Rebekah, Megan, Katharine, Sarah and Lauren.
