February 26, 1934 - May 7, 2018
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, neighbor and friend passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loving family.

John will be fondly remembered for his songs, sense of humour, joy, kindness, and loyal commitment to family. John immigrated from Greenock Scotland to Vancouver, B.C. in 1954. He and his wife celebrated 60 years of marriage this past February 2018.

John was an avid competitive cyclist when younger, biking all through Scotland and Northern Ireland. When the sun came out, John could be found fishing or out on the golf course. He and his wife loved to go dancing when younger and have a wee sing song around the kitchen table.

John worked 20 years in the Matsqui prison where he instructed inmates to master a trade in sheet metal. He received many a thank you letter.

He is survived by his wife Bridget, sons John (Linda) and Tom (Sheila), daughter Heather (Mike), grandchildren (Kelsi, Ryan, Cameron, Maegan, Kaitlyn, McKayla) plus his much-loved nieces and nephews, brother- in- law Thomas (Helen).

His jovial laughter can be heard in the hearts of many.

The family would like to thank Dr. Morrison (retired) for the many years of dedicated care, Oncologist Dr Jenny Ko and all of the staff from Fraser Health Hospice and Palliative Care team --plus the priceless nursing aids who offered meaningful comfort to his last days on earth.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 pm Saturday, June 23rd, 2018 at the Fraternity Order of Eagles Hall.
