November 24, 1956 - March 22, 2024
With sadness we announce the peaceful passing of John Pierotti on March 22nd in Abbotsford, BC after a courageous battle with Corticobasal Degeneration. We take solace in knowing that he is now free from any discomfort or pain and is perhaps enjoying a cold beer, a tasty caesar, or a good cup of coffee with a plateful of sweets.
John was the beloved husband of Bonnie, his best friend and loving wife of 44 years. John was extremely proud of his children, his daughters-in-law and son-in-law and will be missed and lovingly remembered by Kevin (Krista), Tim (Kalmia) and Dana (Andy) Park.
He will also be fondly remembered by his four granddaughters and two grandsons who will forever hear the stories and antics of their Papa. We wish he could have had more time with them.
John was born in Montreal, Quebec to Patrick and Annie Pierotti. He relished the freedom of his childhood in Brosseau (Brossard), Quebec spending any free time playing street hockey, baseball, ice hockey (which he excelled at), and later flag football.
He moved with Bonnie and the children to Abbotsford, BC in 1991 where he continued to work for Canada Post. John was always present as an encouraging spectator or respected coach as his kids participated in their many activities, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, volleyball and community theatre being just a few.
John enjoyed many vacations over the years (particularly warm ones) within Canada, USA, Europe and his favourite destinations, Mexico and Hawaii, especially with his sister Lil and "brother" Mike Savinkoff.
John will always be in the hearts of his siblings; Nancy Dechene, Michael (Sally), Lillian Savinkoff and Margaret Pierotti-Desroches, mother-in-law Lona Luponio, sisters/brothers-in-law, Lynda (Rob), Gayle (Steve), many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts/uncles-in-law and lifelong friends.
He is predeceased by his parents, father-in-law Jimmy and three brothers-in-law, Guy Dechene, Mike Savinkoff and Rene Desroches.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Straiton Community Hall in Abbotsford, between 2:00 and 5:00 pm.
