Aug 6, 1925 - Mar 31, 2018
It is with great sorrow we must announce that John Dyck passed away on March 31, 2018 at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital. He is survived by his sister Helena (Lena) Falk and his brother William (Willy) Dyck and his two sons Harold and Gordon Dyck and his two daughters Betty Lou Bizzarre and Melinda Gauthier. Sadly he was predeceased by Mary, his wife of 66 years, his brothers Abram, Jacob, Peter, Henry, Frank, David and Edward and one sister Louise.

John was born in Korejewka Siberia, Russia and immigrated to Canada when he was one year old. He and his family lived in Morden Manitoba for 9 years before moving to Winnipeg, Manitoba. In 1946 at the age of 21 he and his family moved to BC where John and his father each bought property on Harris Road.

On October 8, 1949 John married Mary Peters and together they had 4 children, 7 grand-children and many, many great grandchildren. Some cities that John and Mary lived and raised their family were Abbotsford, Langley, Surrey, Burnaby and Kamloops.

While Mary was the home-maker John took many occupations including being a part-time farmer, he had a career in the saw mill industry, in logging and as a truck driver but his longest career and passion was in construction. His seasonal home at Mahood Lake was his pride and joy and his greatest pleasure was visiting with all his family.

We will be honouring John Dyck's life on Friday April 20, 2018 at the Eben Ezer Mennonite Church with the viewing and graveside ceremony starting at 9 am, memorial service at 11:30 and reception at 12:30 pm.
