Jens "Egon" Jensen

January 19, 1930 - October 2, 2019
Dad was born in Bramming, Denmark and immigrated to Canada at the age of 20. Originally landing in Ontario, he made his way west working in various areas of BC in the farming and logging industries. He eventually ended up in Abbotsford where he became a milk tester for the BC Ministry of Agriculture. In 1962 he met the love of his life, Nonie, and they married shortly thereafter. Together they raised three children at the home they built overlooking Sumas Prairie. They enjoyed a rich social life revolving around family, friends, square dancing, camping, fishing, golf, travel and playing cards. They loved to entertain and there were always friends popping by and an impromptu happy hour would start up. Their greatest pride was their family and they loved watching their grandkids grow up, attending many soccer and hockey games and dance recitals. Dad is survived by his children, Ryan (Barb) Jensen; Mark (Laureen) Jensen; and Lisa Jensen, his grandchildren: Alisha Jensen, Christopher (Kelsey) Jensen, Graham Jensen, Alex Jensen, Devon (Joel) Love, Kara (Ryan) Pavitt and Jarred Earnshaw, and great grandchildren Mason Jensen-Roberts and Hazel Pavitt. He was predeceased by Nonie, his wife of 54 years, and his grandson Joshua Jensen. Dad and Mom have left all of us with many happy memories of a rich life well lived and will be missed by their family and friends. Special thanks to the staff at the Oxford Senior Care Home. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, November 10th at 1-3 pm in the amenities building at Crown Point Villas, 34959 Old Clayburn Rd, Abbotsford.
