Jacob went home in the early morning hours of June 11, 2018 at the age of 88.
Jacob was born to Peter and Suzan Kliewer in Germany as they fled Russia, eventually taking refuge in Paraguay, South America in 1930. He was the second youngest of eight children. They later immigrated to Canada in 1975, settling in Abbotsford, British Columbia.
Jacob married Erna (Goetz) on February 15, 1958 in Filadelfia, Paraguay. Jacob is survived by his wife, Erna, his children Anita (Henry), Edie, Erv (Tammy), Don (Linda), Helmut (Pam), Rudy, his 24 grandchildren (including spouses), and 20 great grandchildren.
Heartfelt thanks to the Abbotsford Regional Hospital staff for their tender care of Dad in the final six weeks of his life.
On Friday, June 15, 2018 there will be a public viewing at 10:00 am, with a celebration of life at 11:00 am at King Road Mennonite Brethren Church (32068 King Road, Abbotsford).
