Jacob "Jake" Hildebrand, age 85, passed away peacefully into the presence of his Lord on March 27, 2018.
He was predeceased by his beloved son Bruce in 2016 as well as his siblings Ann Letkeman, Paul Hildebrandt, Carl Hildebrandt, Mary Laycock, and Agatha Saccucci.
Jake is survived by Phyllis his wife of 64 years, two daughters Robin (Glenn) Bates and Tracy (Darryl) Horton, by his grandchildren Ryan (Nadia) Bates, Naomi Horton, Nathan Horton (Jenn Edstrom), Jennifer (Scott) Olmsted and great-grandchildren Kayla Diguistini, Kirsten (Darrin) Climie, Makenna Olmsted, Jacob Bates and Olivia Edstrom. He is also survived by five siblings John (June) Hildebrandt, Peter (Trudy) Hildebrandt, Helen (Henry) Wiebe, Eva (Rene) Van Tatenhove, and Henry (Lynn) Hildebrandt, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends.
Visitation will be Monday, April 23, 2018 from 7 - 9 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd, Abbotsford. Burial will be held Tuesday, April 24, 10:30 am at the Vedder View Gardens, Chilliwack. A Celebration of Life Service to follow at 1:30 pm at Seven Oaks Alliance Church, 2575 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford.
The family would like to especially thank Dr. Shale Blane as well as the doctors and staff at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital for all their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the MCC, Memorial Plan, PO Box 2038, Abbotsford, BC V2T 3T8.
