EPP - Jacob. August 16, 1933 ~ May 11, 2011. Jake passed away peacefully into the presence of his Lord, on May 11, 2011, with his family by his side. Jake was born on August 16, 1933 into a family of 16 children in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, to Maria and Henry Epp. In his early years he moved to Abbotsford and, at the age of 19, met the love of his life. In 1954 Olga and Jake were married. In 1957 Douglas Charles was born, followed by Brenda Jayne in 1961. Jake worked with the District of Abbotsford for 29 years, but he was a hobby farmer at heart. He loved nothing more than hanging out with his family. He was predeceased by his mother and father and brothers, Pete, Ben and Herman. Jake fought a courageous battle with diabetes for 34 years. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his loving wife, Olga, to whom he was married for 57 years, his son Doug (Adele), daughter Brenda, grandchildren Derrick and Lindsay, brothers, sisters, brothers- in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and friends. We were all blessed by the lessons he taught us through the grace and dignity with which he lived his life. A celebration of Jake's life is planned for Monday, May 16, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at South Abbotsford Mennonite Brethren Church, 32424 Huntingdon Road, Abbotsford.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully accepted to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
