TRACEY, Irene Mae. Irene Tracey went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Friday, November 29, 2013 from her home in Westbank, BC. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Bill in 2006. Irene was a child of the prairies, born on the family farm near Viscount, Saskatchewan on September 9, 1920. After high school she attended Normal School in Saskatoon, and then taught for eleven years in one room country schools. In 1952 she moved to Abbotsford where she taught in the Abbotsford School District for the next twenty five years. Irene loved teaching; her vocation brought her deep joy and much satisfaction. In 1952 she married Bill Tracey, and they raised their three children in Abbotsford. In 1991 they moved to Westbank to be near their children and grandchildren. Left to remember and miss her deeply are her daughters Beverley (Karen), Alison (Don), her son Doug (Mary), her grandchildren Luke, Charis, William, Stephanie, David, and five great grandchildren. Also left to mourn her passing are her sisters Freda and Frances, sisters in law Kathleen and Jenny, brother in law Ron, her old friends and the new friends she made in her assisted living residence. Irene died at home with such grace and deeply peaceful, in the good company of her loving family. A funeral service will be held on Friday December 6, 2013 at 1pm at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, 2051 Windsor Road in Clearbrook.
