Herbert, late of Abbotsford went to be with the Lord on December 19, 2006. He was born July 12, 1915 at Laird, SK. He was predeceased by parents Bernard and Sarah Heppner, his first wife Doris, 5 brothers Abe, Jake, Henry (Margaret), Peter (Margaret), and Ben (Esther), 3 sisters Martha (Jake), Helen (Henry), and Anne (Ron), grandson Wayne Price, and great-grandson Logan Doner.
He is survived by his loving wife Katherine, children Joyce (Al) Rourke, Marie (Dave) Pearce, Phyllis Miller, Al (Wanda) Heppner, Alice (Ted) Price, Carolyn Herrington, 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters Justina, Agnes (Abe), Rosella, and Mary, and many relatives and friends.
For 50 years he pastored churches in AB, SK, and ON, served under West Indies Missions, served the Social Credit Assoc. in Ottawa as Office Manager and Sec/treasurer for 4 years.
Herbert had a loving, kind, caring, generous and humorous personality, fun to live with. His motto was “Live so the Pastor doesn’t have to lie about you at your funeral”.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 10:30 am at Sevenoaks Alliance Church, 2575 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford. Interment in Maclure Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Gideon’s International in Canada.
