Hazel Grace (nee Harcus) passed away peacefully at age 103 at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital on Thursday, October 22, 2020.
Hazel was born in Vancouver December 23, 1916, to parents Earl and Grace (nee Kelly), and lived in Vancouver, moving to Abbotsford in 1992. She married George Roy Carver on October 14, 1939, and they enjoyed a loving marriage of 77 years.
Hazel is survived by daughter Betty Gelean, sons John, Roy, Rob (Bonnie), and daughter-in-law Cindy, as well as her 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband George, son-in-law Dennis, and son Kelly.
Hazel worked with her father in his drug store, did clerical work for a crossword writer before being married, and later worked briefly as a salesperson for the Hudson Bay Company. Above all, she cherished her role as a wife and mother, and providing the best home life possible for her family.
Hazel enjoyed many hobbies, including figure skating, knitting, and bowling. She was still playing piano at age 103, and played crib as recently as three weeks before passing.
