Hannah Jane McCready died on February 5, 2005 in Abbotsford at the age of 91. She was born in Port Glasgow, Scotland and came to Canada in 1922.
She is survived by daughter Sandra Jane Darrell, grandsons Aaron, Isaac and Samuel, son Robert James and family members in Ontario.
Hannah attended the Salvation Army Toronto Temple Corps. She entered Training College in the 1937 Enthusiast Session and became a Salvation Army Officer. Her first Church appointment was in the Maritimes. She married James McCready in 1949 and they both served in Church appointments in Alberta and for many years they were stationed at Vancouver Harbour Light from 1966 until retirement. After the death of her husband in 1986 Hannah moved to Abbotsford, BC.
A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at 2:00 pm at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army’s Tsunami Relief Fund.
