Gordon Francis
1925 - 2006
Our beloved Gordon passed away peacefully with his wife Jean at his side on Friday, July 21, 2006, after a very courageous battle. Gordon will be deeply missed by his family and countless numbers of friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean, of 51 years; his son and wife, Guy and Gerry; grandchildren Mark, Heather and Scott; sister-in-law, Jane and family. Predeceased by his parents, Guy and Alice, and brother, Don.
Gordon was born on November 17, 1925 at the family farm near Killarney, Manitoba. His spirit of fun and adventure led him and Jean to many wonderful experiences. Summers with grandchildren, mystery drives, “gypsying” in Big Blue. Gordon touched many people with his sense of humour and friendly nature. His hugs and stories will be missed by Manitoba and Ontario family, Avonlea friends, the Kamloops Gang, church members and Golden “K”. Many heartfelt thanks for their loving care and support to the nurses at 2 South Royal Columbia and MSA Heart Ward, Dr. Latham, Dr. Froese, and Dr. Mong.
A celebration of his life will be held at Trinity Memorial United Church at 33737 George Ferguson Way on Wednesday, July 26 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may make donations to the B.C. Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of their choice.
