BERGSMA, GERBEN
The Lord took to Himself Gerben Bergsma born March 19th 1913 in Snikzwaag Fr., the Netherlands. Gerben was predeceased by his wife Teatske Bergsma-Haga in 2003. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends in Canada as well as in the Netherlands.
They owned a fabric store in Holland before immigrating to Canada in 1951. After living in different places they settled in Agassiz and farmed there quite a few years. After living in Chilliwack, they moved to Abbotsford.
Gerben passed away in the Menno Home Hospital Monday, April 12th 2010 at the age of 93.
The funeral is set for Tuesday, April 20th 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel at Henderson's Funeral Home, 45901 Victoria Avenue, Chilliwack. Pastor Bert Slofstra from Gateway Community CRC, Abbotsford, is officiating. Many thanks to the staff at Menno Hospital and Dr. Henderson.
