December 1, 1934 - August 16, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gary on August 16th, 2018 at the age of 83.
He was born on December 1, 1934 at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, the oldest son of Doris and Les Russell. Gary is pre-deceased by his parents, brother Lloyd, and sister Marilynn.
Gary worked for James Fraser TV on Essendene Ave., from 1954 and purchased the business in 1974. He remained with James Fraser until his retirement. Gary enjoyed his weekly golf games as well as travelling with Rosalie, to the Panama Canal, Alaska, and the East Coast. He was also a member of the ROMEO Club for the past 25 years along with several of his high school classmates.
He will be sadly missed by Rosalie, his loving wife of 59 years, also his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pat and Gord DeLair and Maxine and Don Gibb along with numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
We would like to extend a very special thank you to the Community Palliative Team and the staff at ARH Emergency as well as CCU and Baker 2 staff for their excellent care and support of both Gary and his family.
There will be no service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ARH Cancer Centre or a charity of your choice.
