Frederick Earl Porter born June 30, 1932 and called into the presence of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on December 11, 2007.
Second son of the late William Benjamin Porter and Martha T (Schall) Porter, second grandson of William Porter and Kate (Russell) Porter, and Robert Frederick Schall and Caroline Wilhelmina Schall.
Fred (Bud) was an accomplished bassoonist and contra-bassoonist. He played in the Chandos Chamber Orchestra, the Modern Symphony and the Prudential Symphony in London, England; and with the Rehearsal Orchestra in Edinburgh, and the Edinburgh Symphoneta; as well with the Vancouver Philharmonic, the N.W. Symphony, T.W.U., G.B.I. and in various woodwind quartets and quintets. He also played in the Abbotsford Concert Band for many years.
He operated Cedar Lane Farms for over 50 years with his older brother William, who survives him. He is survived by many friends and associates world-wide.
No service by Bud’s request. A private interment took place on December 17, 2007 at Musselwhite Cemetery.
