Elsie Taylor, age 98, of Mount Lehman, B.C., passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024.
A graveside service will be held at Mount Lehman Cemetery on February 26, 2024, at 11 a.m.
Elsie was born near Herbert, Saskatchewan, and moved with her parents John and Adele Wall and 3 siblings, John, Ben and Olga, to B.C. in 1942. She married her husband Doug in 1947, and she lived in Mount Lehman for 77 years. She was predeceased by Doug in 1998.
Elsie leaves behind her children Gordon (Sharon), Grant (Carol), Rosemary, and Douglas Jr., as well as grandchildren Karen, Ryan (Kristen), Britney, Michael, Chris, Chloe (Kevin) and 15 great-grandchildren.
Elsie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and very active in Mount Lehman United Church, the Matsqui Anavets Club and the Mount Lehman community.
Elsie attended many civic functions in support of her husband Doug, when Mayor of Matsqui. She also worked tirelessly in the family businesses, including Taylors Farm Service and their insurance office in Mount Lehman.
She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
