A viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday, July 13, 2004 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack, B.C. A celebration of Elizabeth's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 14th, 2004 at the Greendale Mennonite Brethren Church, 6550 Sumas Prairie Road, Chilliwack, B.C. with Rev. Dan Harder (grandson) of Regina, SK officiating. Private family burial will take place at the Yarrow Cemetery at a later date. We will remember our Mom for her love of her garden, especially her roses, tulips, tall delphinium and Madonna lilies. She enjoyed cooking and reading a good book and loved to go fishing with Dad at Loon Lake especially after her grandchildren bought her own fishing pole.

George & Elizabeth were long time residents of Yarrow. They were married in November 1937 at the Yarrow M.B. church where they were members. They enjoyed and appreciated the fellowship and the support they received at Yarrow especially when their 15 month old daughter Dorothy died as a result of a tragic farm accident very shortly after laying to rest both of George's parents in 1949. They moved to a dairy farm in Greendale in 1959, then back to Yarrow in 1965 and to Clearbrook in 1984.

Mom came to stay at the Eden Care center in Chilliwack in 1997. The family wishes to thank the staff and Care Aids of Eden Intermediate Care Home who have taken such wonderful care of our Mom for the past 7 years. She really appreicated your generous caring hands, your encouragement and visits to her room to share a prayer or a poem with her.

The family also wishes to thank the pastors and staff of the Clearbrook, B.C. Church for their prayers, visits and sending the church bulletins and audio tapes of the services after Mom was no longer able to attend and enjoy their fellowship in person. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to MCC Canada, 31414 Marshall Road, Box 2460, Abbotsford, B.C. V2T 4X3.
