Elisabeth Maria Hausermann (Betty) passed away at Abbotsford Regional Hospital on January 24, 2024, after a long illness.
Betty was born in Vancouver on August 21, 1938, to Rudolf and Maria Hausermann. After graduating from Henry Hudson Elementary School, and then Kitsilano High School in 1956, Betty went on to have a career with the Vancouver School Board and the Township of Langley.
Betty lived on her family's farmstead in Surrey, BC before moving to Abbotsford a few years ago.
She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, knitting, researching her family's ancestry, and spending time with her dog, Patsy.
Betty is predeceased by her father, Rudolf Hausermann (1972); her mother, Maria Hausermann (née Fesenmaier; 1994); and her beloved brother, Phillip Hausermann (2022).
She is survived by her sister, Armina Matthews, her niece, Dhana Matthews, both of Tsawwassen; her niece, Lesley Matthews (David Erb) of Calgary; her grand nephew, Sam Corbett (Alisha Wootton) of Tsawwassen; and her sister-in-law, Jean Hausermann of Abbotsford.
Betty will be missed and remembered by her family, including cousins in Canada, USA, Germany, and Switzerland, and her many friends.
