It has pleased the Lord of life and death to call to Himself, peacefully and assuredly, our dear mother Eleanor Laura Stobbe to her heavenly home on Friday the 28th of October 2016 at the age of 82. She was born 7th of 12 children to Cornelius D. and Maria Froese on March 29, 1934 in Winkler, Manitoba. The family moved to Abbotsford, BC in 1946. This is where she met and married her lifelong sweetheart Walter, and raised their 4 children. Eleanor lived an interesting and varied life. Besides running a busy household, she was a supportive and active helpmate to her husband on their dairy and later chicken farms. In 1972 – 75 they spent 3 years in Indonesia doing support work for the missionaries there. They also travelled extensively. At the age of 49 Eleanor became a registered nurse, fulfilling a lifelong dream. She later used those skills to lovingly care for her beloved husband of 58 years. Eleanor loved to use her artistic and musical talents to serve her Lord Jesus Christ. She always had some project on the go, and displayed God's creation through many different mediums. She also spent countless hours in volunteer work at church and other agencies. Eleanor’s unwavering and strong assurance of her Saviour’s love for her sustained her till the end. She is predeceased by her husband Walter, granddaughter Natasha, her sister Mary and brothers Hank and Jake. She will be missed by her children Diane (Dave) Klassen, Darlene (Ed) Siebert, Richard (Brenda) Stobbe, Teresa Talyson (John MacMichael), 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A Viewing will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 6:30 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 11:00 am at Clearbrook MB Church, 2719 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford.
