Eleanor was a past president of the Canadian Daughters as well as the Mental Health Society. Eleanor was proud of her inclusion in the 100 citizens of the Century for the City of Courtenay Centennial.
Eleanor was a Salish weaver with works displayed both in Canada and the USA. She was an accomplished seamstress, creating wedding dresses, grad gowns, highland dance costumes and even period costumes. Eleanor and Ray spent many years travelling to Puerto Vallarta, making many friends with snowbirds and locals alike.
Eleanor was outgoing and talkative, she loved cooking for family and friends, no meal being complete without banter. Eleanor was an energetic advocate within all of her volunteer activities, encouraging everyone to do their best, usually with the carrot, sometimes the stick.
No flowers and a celebration of life will be organised at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff at NIH Comox Valley, the nurses and care workers and Dr. Bakshi. We would also like to acknowledge Mom’s long time friends Noreen Hansen and Anja Mielty. Obituary
