Elaine Patricia Suderman (nee Berg)

1955-2021 ~ Elaine was called to her Heavenly Home on October 31, 2021 with her sister Sandra by her side. We will be forever grateful to Holmberg Hospice for the support and care she received for the past four weeks.
Elaine is survived by loving husband of 32 years, Abe; sister Sandra (Al), brother Gary (Della), stepsister Lori (Norm) and many nieces and nephews. Elaine is predeceased by her mother, Shirley, her father Wilford, stepmother Kay, brother Gordie and stepbrother Robbie.
Elaine was born in Cranbrook to Wilford and Shirley Berg. Her father worked for the BC Forest Service, so they moved quite frequently. In 1962 they moved to Campbell River, then Duncan, Maple Ridge and finally to Langley. Elaine graduated from Langley Senior Secondary in 1974.
Elaine always got her biggest joy helping people and she loved her job as a nurse's aid at Peace Arch Hospital.
Elaine's health began to fail in 2009 when she was diagnosed with oral cancer. The surgery was successful but the following radiation treatments destroyed her jaw. More surgeries were then needed. More recently, she was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer. After 12 years of pain and suffering, Elaine is now rejoicing in Heaven.
A celebration of life service is planned for Tuesday, Nov 9, 2021 at 10:30 am at South Abbotsford Church, 32424 Huntingdon Road, Abbotsford.
Masks will be required for the service and vaccine passports for the reception.
