"His laugh filled the room, and his stories filled our hearts."
With deep sadness we announce Ed's passing after lengthy struggles with health issues. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy, sons Kent (Gaylan), Todd, and Dean (Nicole). He is also survived by his seven grandchildren Kaitlyn, Mackenzie, Kelsie, Rachel, Madison, Kennedy, Spencer; sisters Anne (Steve), Wanda, Halina, brother Peter (Bev); and many nieces and nephews. He was born in Mission, BC as the eighth child of Adam and Anna Kokoska. Ed joined the RCMP in 1959 and started his career in Alberta. His many postings included Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Two Hills, and St. Albert. In 1966 he moved back to BC for postings in Surrey, Cassiar, Fort St. John, Colwood, Oliver, and Prince George. The northern postings gave him opportunities to pursue his passion for hunting, fishing, and many exciting road trips - all of which provided the fuel for his memorable stories. Ed retired from the RCMP in 1981 as a Staff Sergeant but continued working as Manager/Director of security for Purolator and the Overwaitea Food Group. Ed's stories, sense of humour, values, and love of family are his legacy. No service by request. There will be a family celebration of life at a future date.
