It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Dorothy Ewert, after a lengthy illness. Dorothy was born in North Vancouver. At 3 years of age, she met her life-long friend, Cecilia Campbell. Dorothy and Cecilia shared many experiences, the most important being their summers living in Yarrow and picking raspberries.
It was there, at 15 years old, that Dorothy met her future husband, Fred. They were married May 19, 1962. Throughout their marriage of nearly 58 years, they enjoyed travelling. The first big trip was the most significant because it was with Cecilia and her family. Both families enjoyed a 6 week vacation across Canada. Many memories were made on that trip. Dorothy and Fred had many other great adventures in their motorhome including the Alaska Highway, the Oregon Coast, annual trips to Reno, and numerous local trips.
Dorothy enjoyed reading and was a very accomplished crafter. Her intricate cross-stitch creations not only decorated their home, they were often special gifts at weddings and other occasions.
Dorothy was predeceased by her father, mother, step-father and brother. She is survived by her husband, Fred, whose support never wavered, especially during the last difficult years of her illness. She is also survived by her sons Chris (Davinder) and Mike, and grandchildren Chantel and Kalista.
