PATER; Dirk Albertus. Oct. 31, 1935 ~ March 3, 2014. Dirk passed away unexpectedly in the early hours of March 3, 2014. He farmed on Sunday, retired for the evening and woke up in the arms of the Lord. He lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed putzing on the farm but enjoyed people even more. His family was extremely important to him especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dirk will be greatly missed by his wife Maaike of 55 years, children: Joanne (Rick) Shead, Elbert (Belinda), Lynn (Corey) Braak, John (Sharon), eleven grandchildren and eight (almost nine) great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a younger sister in 1997 and a grandson in 2003.
A memorial service was held on March 10, 2014 at Living Hope Christian Reformed Church. The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support through this difficult time.
