It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Dan Vanderhorst, beloved husband, father and grandfather, on January 26, 2022.
Dan was predeceased by his father and mother, Jacob and Marrigje Vanderhorst, brother Peter Vanderhorst as well as his grandchild Zachary Vanderhorst.
Dan was a part of a large family. He was a brother to 11 siblings and uncle to over 40 nieces and nephews.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years Wyn; his children, Julia (Jeremy), Terry (Kelsey), Russell (Kristina), and Brenda (Jason); as well as seven precious grandchildren that called him"grampa" Katelyn, Cody, Hannah, Allie, Mae, Eden and Sawyer.
Dan was excited for the expected arrival of a new grandchild due this July. Dan was born on July 26, 1951, and lived in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia his whole life. He was married to Wyn in August of 1977. Dan was a devoted family man who loved life.
We will miss his laughter, his wisdom and his expressions of love. Dan also loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He remained steadfast in his faith during his short battle with cancer witnessing to all who would set foot in his hospital room.
Our hope is that we will be reunited with Dan in glory one day. A funeral service is being planned for family and friends.
