Daniel (Dan) Rodger Thiessen (1964-2023) of Abbotsford passed away on May 12, 2023 following a courageous battle with cancer. Dan said goodbye to many family members and friends on his last day.
He leaves behind his brother Mick (Cindy); nieces Sara (Jeremy), Alana, Ainsley (Jack); great nephew Owen; step father Joe and many other family members and good friends. He was predeceased by his father David Thiessen in 2011 and his mother Susan Thiessen passed away just two days later on May 14, 2023.
He was very brave and stoic throughout his illness right to his final days.
Dan was the nicest, most likable person, always had a smile, positive attitude and a lasting impact on the people he met and worked with. He was an avid reader and golfer and could be seen at the Fraserglen Golf Couse almost every weekend. Dan was very knowledgeable and had an amazing memory.
He was a big fan of the Vancouver Canucks and BC Lions.
He also loved to take charge at the BBQ and was happy to cook for all his family and friends. Dan will be deeply missed by those he left behind.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be scheduled in the near future.
