October 20, 2018
The sunshine and matriarch of our family passed away after a lengthy illness and we said good-bye to our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, auntie, and friend in her 85th year. Tenacious, defiant, loving, and classy - she was a finely woven tapestry of what it takes to live until you are done living.

Connie was born in Kaslo, B.C. and lived in Nelson until she joined the military in 1952. She met and married Richard in 1953 while she was serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Following their marriage she enjoyed the many moves and lasting friendships over his 32 years in the Forces and her 32 years in the Federal Civil Service. They retired in Abbotsford where she embraced friendships with the Order of the Eastern Stars for over 25 years. She loved crafts, computers, camping, genealogy, bowling, reading, travelling, and the casino.

Connie was predeceased by her husband Richard (Dick) (2017), her best friend and sister, Joan Crandlemire (2017), her parents, Coral and Harry, her brother-in-law, Raymond (2012), and son-in-law, Russell(2018). She will be remembered with love by her daughters, Brenda and Sherry, grandchildren, Deon (Jon), Wesley, and Matthew, and her three great-grandchildren, Eric, Alexander, and Lincoln. She will also be missed by her brother-in-law Ken, and sister-in-law's, Pierrette (Andy), Theresa, and their family members.

At Mom's request there is no memorial service. Please take a few moments to remember our Mom through the words of her favourite hymn:

When comes to the weary a blessed release,

When upward we pass to His kingdom of peace,

When free from the woes that on Earth we must bear,

We'll say "good night" here, but "good morning" up there.

When home lights we see shining brightly above,

We shall be soon, thro' His wonderful love,

We'll praise Him who called us His heaven to share,

We'll say "good night" here. but "good morning" up there.
