(Big Ed) Edward Vincent GALLANT

January 22, 2008

Born in Fairview, Alberta on January 22, 1944, Ed passed away suddenly, but peacefully, on January 16, 2008 while on vacation in Cuba with his wife.

Ed is predeceased by his parents and sister, Francis. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Hodges, siblings in Nanaimo: Yvonne, Bernard, Judy and Doug, step-sons Sean (Tracey) and Michael (Tammy) and four grandchildren: Kiana, Nicholas, Alexis and Michaela.

Ed was a quiet family man who treasured his time with his wife Susan, all dogs and cats, travel and adventure to new and exotic places. He experienced tremendous joy during those precious times spent with his grandchildren.

Ed’s career as an electrician took him to many locations throughout Vancouver Island and the lower mainland of BC. At the time of his death, Ed was working with BC Hydro at the Malaspina sub-station on the Sunshine Coast.

A celebration of Ed’s life will be held on Friday, January 25, 2008 at 1:30 pm in the Emmanuel Mennonite Church, 3471 Clearbrook Rd., Abbotsford, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the SPCA or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
