It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Bev Johnston. She is predeceased by her son Darryl Johnston in 2001 and husband Hartley (Lee) Johnston in 2010.
Beverley Jane Johnston (nee Scott) was born in Matsqui, BC on January 29, 1938 and loved living in Abbotsford her entire life.
Bev married Lee in 1957 and they were married for 51 years. In 1963 together they started Savage & Johnston Construction, and worked side by side until Lee's passing in 2010. Bev continued working in the business right up to her passing.
They had four children; Kevin, Darryl, Tracey (Scott), Craig (Sheryle), nine grandchildren; Shaun (Abigail), Derek (Jen), Cameron, Brittany (Aaron), Courtney (James), Nicolas (Deanna), Justin (Aika), Jared (Kristin), Alexandra and seven great grandchildren.
As avid golfers, Bev and Lee spent many wonderful golf vacations with their friends, Bev continuing the tradition even after Lee's passing.
Hosting large family dinners, her grandchildren taking turns helping, brought her great joy. Weekly card games and dinner dates with friends were also some of her favourite things to do.
Bev was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be sadly missed.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, when we can all be together.
