GERESTEIN, Bernardina (Dini) 1924 - 2012. Dini passed away July 11, 2012 in her 89th year. Since the passing of her husband Jake in 2006, Dini resided in Ottawa. In her last years, she had Alzheimer's and resided in a care facility but was always able to recognize her sons Bernard and Norman. Dini and Jake operated Bernard's Grocery in Abbotsford for almost 30 years before their retirement and Dini was known for her sense of humour, commitment to customer service and excellent business sense. Following her retirement from the grocery store she became a real estate agent and continued in business. Dini was active with the MSA HospitalAuxiliary for many years. She is survived by her sons Bernard (Johanne) in Gatineau, QC, Norman (Pat) in Brooks, AB, grandchildren Oliver (Danielle) and great-granddaughter Florence in Montreal, Eric (Sally) in Toronto, Janelle (Oscar), Jefferey, Mark and Michelle (Chris) and greatgranddaughter Sophie in Brooks. Dini's family expresses their sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at the West End Villa in Ottawa for their care over the past years. Dini was a great mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.
