ARCHIBALD MURPHY

November 20, 2003

Loving grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend passed away November 20, 2003 in Abbotsford.

Born July 28, 1913 in Glasgow, Scotland he immigrated to Eastern Canada with his family in 1925. He moved to Calgary, Alberta in 1935 where he met his wife, Jean Williams, and they raised their son, Cameron. Archie and Jean had a happy and lasting marriage of 57 years.

Archie served in the RCAF during the Second World War. After the war he started work at Calgary Packers where he worked his way up to Superintendent. He continued to be a consultant for them into retirement. He enjoyed golf and especially his association with his friends at Ledgeview Golf & Country Club.

Archie was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, in 1992 and by his son, Cameron, in 1984. Surviving him are his two grandsons, Sean and Darcy of Eagle, Idaho and his granddaughter, Julie Clarke of Powell River. Four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive him.

Archie's wishes were for a private memorial service to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Parkinson Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.
