Mr. Antonio (Tony) Turra late of Abbotsford, BC passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord surrounded by his family, on September 27, 2013 at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife, Maria; sons, Alfonso (Martene), Ernie (Ilona), Carlo (Tracey); grandchildren, Christopher (Anne), Anthony (Karen), Chad (Frankie), Dominique, Trevor, Hayley; great grandchildren, Dane & Reisling; sisters, Teresina, Angela, Giacomina; and many relatives in Italy, Switzerland, Luxembourg, France, USA and Canada. He was predeceased by his parents, Massimiliano & Maria. Antonio was born in Semonzo Del Grappa, Italy; a twin, he was the third of four children. He immigrated to Canada in 1952 and was joined by his wife, Maria in 1955. He so loved his new home, Canada, and their little farm. Initially, Antonio worked in the logging industry in Kelsey Bay, Vancouver Island, and then Harrison Lake. He subsequently moved to Abbotsford, worked at Dairyland for 37 years and retired in 1993. He was an honest, strong, determined, big-hearted man always with a twinkle in his eye. Proud of his heritage, Antonio was also a member of the Bellunesi Nel Modo. He loved the outdoors; hunting, hiking, gardening, pruning his grapes and wine making. He also enjoyed geography, reading, word searches and spending time with his family and friends – particularly his grandchildren. He loved his family dearly and was a devoted brother, husband, father and Nonno. He will be very sadly missed by all who knew him and his lasting legacy is his love of life, devotion of family, and faith in the Lord Jesus.

Special thanks to the doctors, nurses, care staff and friends at the Worthington Pavilion for their kindness, gentleness and loving care.
