Louise died peacefully in sleep with her children at her side. Born in Kenlis, NWT she graduated from UBC in 1922 where she was affiliated with Gamma Phi Beta. She married fellow student, Ernest Clarke in 1925. They raised their 3 children in Abbotsford and were both very active in community affairs. During Louise's tenure as Chair of School District #34, 4 new schools were opened. She will be remembered with affection by many former students from her time as a teacher. She and Ernest enjoyed many travels together before his death in 1975. In addition to her children, Joyce (Wesson), Pat, and Carol (Duffus), she is survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
The family is grateful to all the staff at MSA Manor Home who provided such thoughtful care to our mother during her final years. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
