March 6, 1945 - January 9, 2019
After a brief fight against cancer, Alice passed away peacefully in hospice, surrounded by family at the age of 73.  Born in the Netherlands, she moved to Winnipeg in 1951 and married Peter Kammeraad on May 26, 1965. In 1967, they settled in Abbotsford and raised four girls.  Alice was hard working and fun loving as a wife, mother and business woman. She was well known for her roles as a Shaklee distributor and owner of TravelGlobe/Anchors Away. She was an amazing host, loved to laugh, and blessed many with her talent on the accordion. Mom was predeceased by her first husband, Peter Kammeraad, her second husband Dan Ronhaar, her parents, Jacob and Alice Kingma and sister, Grace Jurrius.  She leaves behind her husband, Herman Bandstra of 10 years, 4 daughters - Pauline Bosch, Alison (John) Arends, Lorraine (Bryce) Mendez, and Carla (Dave) Bryant, 6 siblings, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; 2 step-children and 6 step-grandchildren. Mom loved everyone! Mom was strong in her faith and knew where she was going. She will be dearly missed. We would like to thank all staff and volunteers at Holmberg House for their amazing care over the past 4 months.
