UPDATE: Police indicated on Tuesday, Jan. 12 that Andrew Giffen has been located. He is safe and currently at home.

The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) is asking for the public’s help in trying to track down a man reported missing last Thursday from a residence in the 33700 block of McDougall Avenue.

Const. Ian MacDonald said Andrew Giffen, 59, had been dropped off at Abbotsford Regional Hospital (ARH) for medical treatment on Wednesday, Jan. 6 and was supposed to catch a ride back to the McDougall location just before 9 p.m.

He did not return and was not located at ARH or the surrounding area.

MacDonald said Giffen is not from the Abbotsford area, and had been receiving mental-health-based medical care here for just a short time.

Without his medication, Giffen could appear confused and excited, MacDonald added.

Giffen is 6’ 2”, weighs 260 pounds, and has blue eyes and blonde hair. He was last seen wearing black pants, a black jacket and carrying a toque and gloves.

Anyone with information is asked to call the APD at 604-859-5225 or text abbypd (222973).
