Two break-and-enter suspects were arrested early Friday morning in Abbotsford after initially running from the scene.
The incident took place at about 3 a.m., when police were notified that two suspects had been seen on surveillance cameras as they broke into a mall under construction next to the Cabela’s store at 1818 McCallum Rd.
A man and a woman fled the scene as police arrived. The woman was caught right away, but officers were unable to catch the male suspect as he ran away.
A short time later, police received a call that a man had jumped into a locked storage compound, run through the compound, jumped the fence and headed down King Road – directly across the road from where the break-in had occurred.
The man was found a short distance away and arrested.
Both suspects have lengthy criminal records and are under court conditions to follow a curfew, according to police.
