Two people seriously injured after head-on collision in Abbotsford

Two people were sent to hospital after a two vehicle head-on collision at the Lefeuvre Road and Huntingdon Road intersection on Wednesday (Sept. 12) evening.

Abbotsford Police Department members were called to the scene just before 8 p.m. and along with members of the BC Ambulance Service and Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service, rendered aid to the drivers involved, a 49-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman who were transported to hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries respectively.

The intersection was temporarily closed to the public as members of the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service attended and assisted investigators at the scene.

APD officials stated that it has not yet been confirmed whether speed or impairment contributed.

APD’s General Investigation Section is leading the investigation and has asked anyone with dashcam footage and information about the event to please contact them at 604-859-5225.
