After closing its doors for good in September, Tsawwassen’s Splashdown Waterpark is getting a new lease on life.
The popular local summer attraction, which entertained Lower Mainland families for 33 years, is set to return this summer rebranded as Big Splash Waterpark.
Executive Hotels and Resorts announced last week that it has secured a 99-year lease on the property and will renovate and reopen the waterpark in June 2017.
When it opens, Big Splash will include a new kids area and updated clubhouse, as well as an espresso-and-gelato bar, cabana rentals, an adults-only hot tub, a sports bar and a VIP private viewing deck complete with DJ stand.
The company also has plans to add new slides in 2018 and build a 200-plus room hotel adjacent to the park and near the Tsawwassen Mills shopping centre to open in 2019.
