The combination of steady rain and below-freezing temperatures has turned Abbotsford roads treacherous.
Police are urging the public not to drive, unless it is an emergency.
Cole Road is currently inaccessible from Vye Road and Wells Road from Bowman to Cole Roads has four-foot high snow drifts.
The rain is forecast to continue through until at least the morning and possibly through all day Thursday, as temperatures rise to a high of 7 C in the afternoon.
