The owner of the trail-cam was trying to find her lost dog around Mill Lake.

Trail-cam thief unaware of being on camera

Anyone recognizing the thief urged to contact Abbotsford Police Department

A woman attempting to find her lost dog with a trail-cam is instead receiving periodical updates into the life of the thief who snatched the cam.

“I just want it back. I just want to find my dog,” said the owner in a Facebook post.

The thief is apparently unaware a trail-cam takes pictures when it senses any movement and sends these pictures to the owner of the device. The thief is apparently also unaware the cam is registered to a specific owner and would be impossible to sell.

“It’s useless to anyone else.”

The trail-cam has been reported stolen to the police and anyone who recognizes the thief is urged to contact the Abbotsford Police Department.

The cam was taken from the Mill Lake area on Aug. 22.
