Harris Road in Abbotsford is closed to traffic between Mt. Lehman and Bates roads following a crash involving a tanker truck carrying tar on Thursday morning (Dec. 2).

Abbotsford Police Const. Paul Walker said, at about 9 a.m., the driver was travelling west on Harris near Olund Road – where there is an S curve – when he lost control and the vehicle flipped.

The truck’s tank ruptured, spilling the tar on the road and into the nearby creek, Walker said.
